Craig's educational background is equally impressive, having graduated from Emerson College in Boston with degrees in Mass Communications and Speech. During his time at Emerson, he not only honed his academic skills but also developed a passion for sports, playing Varsity Basketball and working as a news stringer for the three major television networks in Boston.
Following his college days, Craig entered the motion picture industry, beginning his career in the camera business with General Camera Corporation/Panavision. He quickly made a name for himself, spearheading several projects that showcased his innovative approach to camera technology. One of his earliest achievements was building 16mm newsreel cameras for ABC, CBS, and NBC, a feat that demonstrated his technical expertise and attention to detail.
As his career progressed, Craig became the first to utilize Panavision's groundbreaking Panaglide stabilizing device on numerous feature films, television shows, and national commercials. This pioneering work not only cemented his reputation as a master of his craft but also paved the way for future generations of cinematographers.
