Corey, a 1987 alumnus of Inglemoor High School in Seattle, Washington, spent his formative years honing his acting skills and indulging in his passion for collecting comic books. During his freshman year of college, Corey secured a part-time job at Factoria Cinemas, allowing him to watch movies for free and maintain a flexible schedule. It was during this period that he landed a notable role as Goober in Keith Gordon's film, The Chocolate War.
Subsequently, Corey's credit in TV Guide in 1989 listed him as "Corky Gunnestad", a nickname that soon gained widespread acceptance among his friends and acquaintances. Today, Corey is based in Los Angeles, where he has established a successful career as a writer, producer, and director.
