Biography

The illustrious Australian actress, a prominent figure in the realm of 1940s B films, was initially introduced to the American market by RKO Pictures. However, despite her promising start, the studio unexpectedly dropped her after her initial two American feature appearances.

Undeterred, she went on to spend a significant three-year period at Columbia Pictures, where she continued to hone her craft and expand her range. Following her tenure at Columbia, she transitioned to a freelance career, predominantly focusing on low-budget thrillers and westerns.

During this period, she also embarked on a brief marital union with the renowned actor, George Brent, adding another layer of complexity to her already fascinating persona.
