Colleen is a multi-award-winning feature film and television director who has made a name for herself by crafting stories that seamlessly blend comedy and drama. Her passion lies in message-oriented ideas that explore the human condition, often focusing on characters who embody resilience and hope in the face of adversity.
With a keen eye for detail, Colleen excels at ensemble explorations of the darker side of human nature, often incorporating elements of the absurd into her work. She is also drawn to slowing down and exploring the quiet moments between pivotal scenes, allowing her audience to fully immerse themselves in the world she creates.
In addition to her feature film work, Colleen is in development on a New York City-based feature with Ged Dickersin, the co-producer of Oscar-winning "Coda". Her most recent feature projects have been distributed via Tubi, Lifetime Movie Networks, Passionflix, and Prime Video, while her short films have garnered attention and awards at international festivals, including the Oscar-qualifying Holly Shorts Film Festival and the Soho International Film Festival.
As a recipient of the New York Foundation of the Arts artist's grant "Anonymous Was a Woman", Colleen is a member of several prestigious organizations, including Film Fatales, Women In Media, Primetime Network, Alliance of Women Directors, and SHOOT Magazine's "New Director to Watch" list. With decades of experience in the industry, Colleen began her career as a Production Assistant on feature films before becoming a sought-after Production Coordinator in commercials, music videos, and features, working with renowned directors such as Oliver Stone, Brian DePalma, and M. Knight Shyamalan.
As a conservatory-trained actor, Colleen has a deep understanding of the craft, having studied Meisner, Strasberg, and other Method techniques. She has also overlapped her acting work with stand-up comedy, performing in over 20 venues internationally, and has directed theater productions in New York City, including "Merde, Melissa!" at Theatre Studio Inc. and "Cowboy Mouth" at The American Theatre of Actors.
Colleen's work has taken her from Iraq to LA, and she is particularly proud of her involvement with the Oscar-shortlisted feature documentary "Quest for Honor" and the Sundance Grand Jury nominee. Her debut screenplay "The Family Remains" was a semi-finalist in the 2017 Page International Screenplay Contest.
A graduate of Boston University with a BS in Communications/Film and a concentration in Acting, Colleen is a true artist with a wealth of experience and a passion for storytelling.
