Born in Smithers, British Columbia, Cody's journey in the world of film began in 2000 when he landed an extra role in a Montreal production. This experience sparked a fire within him, and he continued to nurture his passion for filmmaking over the years.
In 2013, Cody took the plunge and purchased his first camera, immediately putting it to good use by working on a short documentary. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career, as he continued to hone his skills and build his portfolio.
Fast forward to 2018, when Cody's short film "Casey" achieved a significant milestone by being selected by Telefilm Canada to be featured in Canada's Not Short On Talent at the prestigious Festival De Cannes in Cannes, France. This recognition not only validated his hard work but also opened doors to new opportunities.
In recent years, Cody has made a significant impact in the documentary filmmaking world. His feature documentary "Hell Or Clean Water" won two Audience Choice Awards at the 2021 Hot Docs festival and is now widely available on the Documentary Channel and CBC Gem.
