Clyde Tull, a warm and nurturing actor with a friendly smile, was born in San Francisco to an FBI agent father and a homemaker mother. Raised in California, Tennessee, and Louisiana, he was the middle child with an older brother and a younger sister.
Tull made his acting debut at the age of 14, starring alongside his future wife in a Baton Rouge High School production of Beggar on Horseback.
After graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in Finance, he volunteered for military service and enjoyed a successful 30-year career in the US Army, retiring as a Colonel. During his military service, he held various command and staff assignments in the United States and overseas.
While still in the Army, Tull began his professional acting career, making his first national television and radio commercials for Total Petroleum. He continued to serve in the Army while pursuing his acting career, eventually moving to Los Angeles in 2000.
Tull's breakthrough role came in the film S1mOne, where he played a Catholic Cardinal opposite Al Pacino. He gained national recognition in 2002 as the chatty Texan in a popular Budweiser commercial, which won a Clio, three AICP awards, and an Emmy nomination. The character was so well-received that he was brought back for another Super Bowl commercial the following year, this time featuring Tim McGraw.
Since then, Tull has continued to play a wide range of characters in movies, television, and commercials. He has recently appeared alongside Eddie Izzard on The Riches and opposite Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel on How I Met Your Mother. Tull's down-to-earth personality and ability to bring an upbeat spark to a project have made him a prized actor in the industry.
