Biography

Clementina's life story is a testament to her unwavering passion for theater, despite the numerous challenges she faced.

Born in Iguala, Guerrero, as the eldest of five siblings, Clementina was destined to defy convention. Her love affair with theater began when she fell for the charismatic Mexican actor Esvón Gamaliel during her adolescence.

To support her family, Clementina worked as a maid, just like her mother, but her dreams of becoming a thespian were ignited after watching the play "Una tal Raymunda" in Acapulco. At the tender age of 22, and with a child in tow, she made the bold decision to move to Toluca to pursue her passion at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México.

However, Clementina's journey was not without its obstacles. Despite her talent and dedication, she faced discrimination and prejudice due to her socio-economic background and indigenous features. Undeterred, she continued to hone her craft, eventually finding solace in writing and directing her own plays.

As she matured, Clementina's confidence grew, and she began to take control of her own destiny. She landed roles in various TV series, including La Malinche, Selena, Juan Gabriel, and Julio Cesar Chavez, and even co-starred in the film "Cría Puercos".

The call for a mysterious new project would eventually lead her to collaborate with the renowned filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón on the critically acclaimed film "Roma". After three grueling castings and months of anticipation, Clementina's hard work paid off, and she secured a starring role in the cinematic masterpiece.
