Her early career took root in Atlanta, Georgia, where she began her journey at the esteemed Alliance Theatre, laying the groundwork for her eventual rise to local fame as a stage actress in Atlanta and throughout the southeast. Her one-woman show, "From My Grandmother's Grandmother Unto Me," which was skillfully captured on film by the talented John D. Allen for Public Broadcasting, served as a testament to her remarkable talent and versatility.
