Claire's life story begins in the vibrant city of New York, where she took her first breaths, before relocating to the charming town of Providence, Rhode Island, where she spent her formative years. With a passion for the performing arts, Claire pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the esteemed Carnegie-Mellon University, setting the stage for a illustrious career in regional theatre and Off-Broadway productions. For two decades, she honed her craft, working alongside talented individuals, before co-founding Brave New World Repertory Theatre with her husband, John Edmond Morgan. As the company's first producing artistic director from 2003 to 2012, Claire oversaw the creation of innovative productions that reimagined timeless classics in unique settings. Her direction of To Kill a Mockingbird, The Tempest, The Crucible, Street Scene, and On the Waterfront in environmental locations, such as Park Slope and Coney Island, earned widespread acclaim. Brave New World Repertory Theatre is a collaborative effort of Brooklyn-based theatre professionals dedicated to crafting dynamic productions of classic plays and new works by Brooklyn writers. The company performs in historic and unconventional Brooklyn venues, aiming to engage under-served audiences and foster a love of theatre.
