Christopher Robert Bowen, an American actor and producer, was born in the small town of Shawnee, Oklahoma to Lorna Mae Rosamond, an order controller, and Robert Larry Bowen, a construction worker.
Growing up in Bethel, a remote part of town, Bowen was surrounded by his parents, older sister Kimberly, and the vast 10 acres of land they called home. His early life was marked by a strong sense of community, and he began his acting career as a child performing in musical plays at the Shawnee Little Theater.
As a teenager, Bowen left acting behind to pursue sports, but his passion for the craft was rekindled during his senior year at Bethel High School, where he performed in his class play. After graduating in 1991, Bowen attended Shawnee High School in Oklahoma until his junior year, before transferring to Bethel High School, where he completed his education.
Religion played a significant role in Bowen's upbringing, and he regularly attended both Baptist and Church of Christ churches. After high school, Bowen moved to Dallas, Texas, where he quickly secured an agent and began working on various projects.
His early career was marked by small roles, including a single episode appearance on the popular TV show "Walker, Texas Ranger" starring Chuck Norris. After several years in Dallas, Bowen made the move to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career.
