Chris deFaria is a prominent Hollywood-based producer with a diverse range of credits across some of the most successful and innovative films of the past decade. His impressive portfolio includes notable titles such as Ready Player One, directed by Steven Spielberg, Mad Max: Fury Road, directed by George Miller, Gravity, directed by Alfonso Cuarón, and 300, directed by Zack Snyder, as well as animated films like How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, The LEGO Movie, and Happy Feet.
Under his banner, Keylight, Chris has expanded into mixed media and multi-platform projects, showcasing his innovative approach to storytelling. His notable achievements include two Harry Potter VR experiences, a 360-degree dome cinematic experience at Comcast's headquarters, and innovative hybrid animation/live-action feature films, Tom & Jerry and Coyote v. Acme.
Prior to establishing Keylight, Chris served as President of DreamWorks Animation, where he played a pivotal role in guiding the studio's creative development and technological advancement, including immersive and location-based experiences.
Before his tenure at DreamWorks Animation, Chris served as President of Digital Production and Innovative Technology at Warner Bros., where he founded WAG, the studio's animation division, developed VFX strategies for films like Harry Potter and The Matrix, and oversaw initiatives in AI and VR, for which he holds a patent.
Chris is a respected member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Writers Guild, and serves on the board of directors for The Third Floor. He is also a trustee for The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and a founding board member of FilmAid, a non-profit organization bringing educational films and entertainment to refugee camps around the world.
