Christine Helen Lakin was born on January 25th, 1979, in the vibrant city of Dallas, Texas. As a child, she experienced the thrill of moving to new places, finally settling in the charming city of Atlanta, Georgia, where her passion for acting began to unfold.
In Atlanta, Christine joined the esteemed Atlanta Workshop Players, a renowned theater group that performs in schools throughout the metropolitan area. Her first foray into the world of acting was an audition for a TV commercial, "Got Milk?!", although she didn't land the role, she didn't have to wait long for her next opportunity.
Christine's big break came when she landed the part of the young Rose in the historical drama film, The Rose and the Jackal (1990),starring the iconic Christopher Reeve. In 1991, she took her first step towards stardom, securing the role of the tomboyish Al on the hit sitcom, Step by Step (1991).
Throughout the sitcom's successful run, Christine grew up gracefully, graduating from high school in 1997 and making numerous appearances on other television shows. When Step by Step (1991) was cancelled in 1998, Christine continued to pursue her passion for acting, attending UCLA and majoring in film.
She landed roles in independent films such as Boltneck (2000) and Finding Kelly (2000),and her first wide theatrical film release was Whatever It Takes (2000). Since then, she has appeared in a slew of independent coming-of-age films and made guest appearances on hit shows like Boston Public (2000) and Opposite Sex (2000).
Despite her busy film career, Christine remained committed to her education, attending UCLA and managing to continue her acting career, a feat that few child actors are able to achieve.
