Christian Kahrmann embarked on his acting career at the tender age of eight, with his early start in the industry culminating in numerous film and television appearances by the time he reached the age of thirteen.
Born in Cologne, Germany, Kahrmann's breakthrough role came in 1985 when he landed one of the leading parts in Germany's oldest and still-running television series, 'Lindenstrasse', catapulting him to nation-wide fame overnight. He remained with the series for seven and a half years before deciding to pursue new projects.
Kahrmann's subsequent work in Germany includes popular titles such as 'Und Tschüss!', 'Das ist Dein Ende', 'Tatort: Bildersturm', 'Victor-Der Schutzengel', and 'Ratten - Sie werden Dich kriegen!', which received the highest ratings of the year for its broadcasting station Pro7. Film enthusiasts in Germany will also remember him from cult-classics like 'The first Semester' or 'Bang, Boom, Bang!' (aka 'Underdogs').
In 1995, Kahrmann relocated to New York, where he enrolled in the renowned Herbert Berghoff-Studio to hone his acting skills under the guidance of esteemed instructors Salem Ludwig and Edward Morehouse. Two years later, he joined forces with fellow students Ronald Marx and Jarreth Merz to co-found 'German Theater Abroad, Inc.', a New York-based production company dedicated to producing and promoting contemporary German drama in English translation on American soil.
Kahrmann currently splits his time between Berlin and New York, where he is actively working on new feature films and theatrical productions in Germany.
