Chris and his identical twin brother, Marty, were selected from a vast pool of talented individuals following a far-reaching and exhaustive nationwide talent search, ultimately securing the coveted roles of Niles and Holland Perry. Concurrently, they were honing their craft and performing in various stage productions at the esteemed HB (Herbert Berghof) Studio in New York City. Interestingly, the HB Studio was founded by Herbert Berghof, who, in a striking coincidence, was married to the renowned actress Uta Hagen, who would later play the role of the twins' grandmother, Ada, in the film.
