Chris was born in Middlesborough, England, in 1951, to a multicultural family with Irish and Italian heritage. From a young age, he harbored a strong desire to pursue a career in journalism, but this ambition was short-lived. A pivotal moment came when a college teacher brutally tore up one of his essays, shattering his confidence and leading him to explore alternative paths.
In search of a new direction, Chris found himself drawn to the world of ice cream, taking up a job in his father's factory. This marked the beginning of a lifelong passion for the sweet treat, which would eventually become a central aspect of his life.
Away from the world of music, Chris had a burning enthusiasm for motor racing and Ferrari cars. He holds a full racing license and has had the opportunity to participate in high-octane activities, including driving 18 laps in a Jordan Formula One car and competing in a BMW touring car shoot-out at Donington Park alongside the legendary Nigel Mansell.
Despite his passion for racing, Chris eventually had to hang up his driving gloves due to a medical condition that left him bedridden for 18 months. However, this setback did not deter him from pursuing his creative endeavors. While confined to bed, Chris used his time to dictate the script for La Passione, a testament to his resilience and determination.
Chris' life has been marked by a sense of privilege, as he is the sole inheritor of his family's ice cream business. However, he has never been content to simply rest on his laurels. Instead, he has always strived to achieve his ambitions, including traveling to his Italian homeland and owning a Ferrari.
