Chris Lynch's journey began in Sydney, where he pursued his passion for acting after completing high school. This pursuit led him to discover the craft of acting, and he was subsequently accepted into the Theatre Nepean Performing Arts program at the University of Western Sydney (UWS),earning a degree in Theatre with a major in Performing Arts.
He later returned to UWS to complete his Graduate Diploma in Education in Drama, and has since taught drama in various high schools and independent colleges, as well as English as a second language. Additionally, he has worked as an in-house Trainer and Assessor for several corporations and businesses.
Throughout his career, Chris has performed on stage in numerous plays throughout the Sydney theatre scene, and has appeared in TVCs, short films, and feature films in Australia, including 'Hoges', 'Australia Day', 'Thor', and 'Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales', as well as corporate video productions.
More recently, Chris has ventured into writing, with his first play 'Shadows' securing funding from HOTA's 'Incubator' program, which supports the ongoing development of local playwrights. The play was workshopped over a period of three months with a dramaturg, culminating in a public performance at HOTA - Home of the Arts - for an audience of HOTA benefactors.
Chris has since written his second play and is currently working on his third. He has also written a comic semi-autobiographical book based on the sometimes bizarre life of an artist, and is currently writing his first fictional novel and series of children's books.
Prior to joining NYFA as an Acting Lecturer, Chris taught Acting for the Screen for local acting agencies and privately, and is now also embarking on writing film scripts. He resides on the Gold Coast with his wife and daughter.
