Chloe Sun Kim is a renowned American snowboarder, proudly sponsored by the esteemed retail corporation Target. Born on April 23, 2000, in the vibrant city of Long Beach, California, Chloe embodies a unique blend of Korean-American heritage. Her parents, Boran Kim and Jong Jin, lovingly raised a family of three children, including her two sisters, Erica and Tracy.
Chloe's snowboarding journey began at the tender age of four, when her father, a keen enthusiast, introduced her to the sport at their local resort in Mountain High, California. As she grew, her passion for snowboarding only intensified, and she started competing at the age of six as part of Team Mountain High.
Between the ages of eight and ten, Chloe's training continued in the picturesque Swiss region of Valais, before returning to the United States to hone her skills further at Mammoth Mountain, California. Although she was not yet of qualifying age to participate in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, she did not let this setback deter her from pursuing her dreams.
Instead, Chloe focused on her training and went on to place second in the 2014 Winter X Games, narrowly behind event winner Kelly Clark. The following year, she achieved a remarkable victory, defeating Clark at the 2015 Winter X Games. Furthermore, Chloe demonstrated her exceptional talent by claiming first place in both the Halfpipe and Slopestyle competitions held at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics.
Chloe's impressive achievements did not go unnoticed, as she was nominated for the prestigious 2016 ESPY Award for "Best Breakthrough Athlete," recognizing her outstanding performance in the world of sports. Throughout her career, Chloe has consistently demonstrated her dedication, perseverance, and passion for snowboarding, solidifying her position as a talented and accomplished athlete in the sport.
