Cheryl Horner McDonough is a native of Florida, hailing from the southeastern state, and has lived and worked in numerous global locations throughout her career, including Atlanta, Georgia, Sydney, Australia, and Bucharest, Romania.
Before settling in New York City, she traveled extensively, and it was in the city that she founded Gigantic! Productions in the year 2001.
Throughout her illustrious career, Cheryl has garnered numerous accolades and awards, including a pair of Emmy Awards for her work on MTV's "True Life" series and the documentary special "Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word."
She has also received multiple Prism Awards for documentaries focusing on drug addiction, a Peabody Award for her work on an MTV sexual health campaign, and has been twice nominated for GLAAD Awards.
Cheryl has produced the independent film "BEAN," which took home the prize for Best Documentary Feature at the 2017 Big Apple Film Festival in New York, Best of Fest at AmDocs in Palm Springs, and was nominated for a 2018 Daytime Emmy Award.
Additionally, she created the Netflix original series "Marching Orders," and served as Series Director for Katie Couric's six-part Nat Geo documentary series "America Inside Out."
Cheryl also directed and produced "Parkland Rising," which won Best Documentary Feature at the Woodstock Film Festival and Slamdance Miami.
Her most recent project is "Sins of the Parents: The Crumbley Trials," which follows a groundbreaking case with exclusive access.
