Biography

Charlene, a talented individual born in Dublin, Ireland, began her journey in the entertainment industry after graduating from the Gaiety School of Acting in 2006. Her early stage appearances included performances at Ireland's national theatre, The Abbey, where she played the role of Honor Blake in the play "The Playboy of the Western World" by Roddy Doyle.

As she transitioned to television in 2007, Charlene was cast in the leading role of Jolene Little in the TV series "Trouble and Paradise" for RTE Two. Her subsequent roles included playing the lead in the popular Irish TV show "Sarah and Steve," written by Emmet Kirwan, and Amy in RTE's acclaimed show "Raw."

Charlene's work extended beyond television, as she worked with award-winning director Alan Shannon on the Children's show "Roy" in 2011. She also produced her first short film, "100 Degrees," directed by Jason Barry and written by Glen Barry, in Los Angeles in 2012. The short film opened the LA Irish Short Film Festival in West Hollywood.

In 2013, Charlene qualified for the O1 Extraordinary Ability visa and continued working in Los Angeles, with credits including TV pilot "Moon," the short film "The American Dream," and the horror film "Raptor Ranch." The following year, she was cast in a small role in Universal's "Dracula Untold" alongside her friend, director Gary Shore.

Charlene's creative endeavors continued in 2015, as she worked with writer Tracey Martin to create a new play for Dublin's Collaborations and Fringe Festival. The highly successful show, "Harder Faster More," produced by Red Bear Productions, went on tour across the west of Ireland, the Project Arts Centre in Dublin, and Smock Alley Theatre. The radio play adaptation of "Harder Faster More" was produced by RTE and won the IMRO Award.

In 2016, Charlene returned to the screen, working with director John Logan on the HBO TV drama "Penny Dreadful." She also collaborated with director and actor Simon Bird on his debut film, "Ernestine and Kit." The following year, Charlene played the role of Stacey Orten in the TV special of Ireland's leading soap, "Fair City."

Charlene's extensive filmography also includes appearances in two short films, "QED" and "Gustav," which both premiered at the 29th Galway Film Fleadh. As an accomplished voice-over artist, Charlene is represented by Ireland's leading voice-over agency, VoiceBank.
