Charlene Choi, a multifaceted Hong Kong-Canadian actress and singer, was born on November 22, 1982, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
She relocated to Hong Kong with her family at a young age and was educated at various institutions, ultimately becoming proficient in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
After graduating from Rosaryhill School, a prestigious institution that has produced numerous aspiring pop stars, Choi began her career as a full-time model in Hong Kong.
Her modeling career was soon disrupted by her discovery by Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG),which led to her being paired with Gillian Chung to form the popular Cantopop group Twins.
Choi's initial foray into acting was in the 2000 television drama Youth Y2K, followed by her film debut in 2001's Funeral March, which received widespread critical acclaim and earned her a Best New Artist nomination at the 21st Hong Kong Film Awards.
