Celia Freijeiro García, a talented individual with a rich artistic background, was born in Vigo, Galicia, Spain. Her father, Rafael Freijeiro, is a well-known Spanish painter, and this artistic influence likely played a significant role in shaping her creative pursuits.
At the tender age of 18, Celia left the United States after a year of living abroad and relocated to Madrid, where she began to build her professional career. Her versatility and chameleon-like personality have been instrumental in her success, as she has effortlessly transitioned between various roles and mediums.
Celia's passion for theatre is evident, and she began her acting career on stage. Her performance in the 2006 production of "El Color de Agosto," written by Paloma Pedrero, earned her nominations for best actress at the prestigious Spanish Theater awards, including the Valle Inclán and Mayte awards.
In 2013, Celia landed the leading role in the play "Los Cenci" by Artaud at the legendary Teatro Español, directed by Sonia Sebastian. Her performance garnered her a nomination for best actress at the Valle Inclán award. More recently, she appeared in the 2014 production of "Mucho Ruido y Pocas Nueces" or "Much Ado About Nothing," based on Shakespeare's classic, which received both popular and critical acclaim. The play was subsequently nominated for an award at the International Almagro Classical Theatre Festival.
In addition to her work in theatre, Celia has made significant contributions to the world of cinema. Her notable film projects include "De Chica en Chica" or "Girl Gets Girl" (2015),directed by Sonia Sebastian, in which she also served as a producer. Another notable film credit is "Todo es Silencio" (2011),directed by José Luis Cuerda, in which she starred alongside prominent Spanish actors Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Quim Gutierrez, and Juan Diego.
However, it is her television work that has brought her widespread recognition. Celia has held leading roles in several TV shows, including "Seis Hermanas" (2016) on Television Española/National Television and "Homicidios" (2011) alongside Spanish actor Eduardo Noriega. Furthermore, she was the leading actress in the first Spanish web series, "Girl Seeks Girl" or "Chica Busca Chica" (2007),which was released on DVD in the US by WolfeTV and is still available for sale on Netflix and Amazon.
As part of her commitment to the arts, Celia has also taken risks and ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her own production company, Pocapena Producciones.
