Caroline Williams began her acting career in Texas, co-starring in the 1985 film Alamo Bay, directed by the renowned Louis Malle, and featuring alongside Ed Harris and Amy Madigan. This marked her first feature film appearance, just six months after completing training at the Studio For Actors under the guidance of Chris Wilson. Prior to this, she had already established herself in the Texas film industry by working on commercials, industrial films, and voiceovers.
Following her breakout role in Alamo Bay, Williams relocated to Dallas and continued to build her acting career, appearing in The Legend of Billie Jean (1985) and Getting Even (1986). It was during this period that she was discovered by Tobe Hooper and L.M. "Kit" Carson, who were casting for the sequel to Hooper's 1974 horror classic, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Williams' audition was nothing short of memorable, as she burst into the casting office, pulled the chairs from beneath the directors, and delivered her lines while huddled in a corner. Her impressive performance earned her the role, beating out 440 other actresses from both coasts.
After the success of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre 2, Williams made the move to Hollywood, where she continued to divide her time between horror and mainstream films. Her horror credits include Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy (1989),Leprechaun 3 (1995),and a range of other genre titles. She has also appeared in a variety of mainstream films, such as Days of Thunder (1990) and How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000).
In addition to her film work, Williams has also made a number of television appearances, including guest roles on series such as Grey's Anatomy and The Mentalist. Her dedication to the horror genre has earned her a loyal fan base, and she continues to be a prominent figure in the genre, with recent releases such as Greenlight and the upcoming Ten Minutes To Midnight further cementing her influence.
