Biography

Carolina Lopez, a five-time nominated actress, has established herself as one of Colombia's most versatile performers, taking on a wide range of roles in film and television.

At the age of 19, she left her hometown of Medellin for Bogota with just $200 and a burning desire for stardom, overcoming numerous obstacles through hard work and dedication.

She earned recognition for her roles in the soap opera La Teacher de Inglés, the film Sofía y el Terco, and the primetime series ¿Donde carajos está Umaña?, winning four awards at the Premios India Catalina and earning a Best Actress nomination.

Not wanting to be typecast, Carolina took on the polemical role of Liliana Rojas in Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas, earning two national nominations and resulting in millions of viral impersonations.

She returned to more elegant roles, playing Alejandrina Valecilla in Azúcar, and later, Amalia the Secretary, winning three awards and one nomination at the Premios Macondos.

Carolina broke her stereotype again with the down-to-earth character of La Yuya in La Mamá del 10, earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination and international success.

Her recent role as Nubia Alazate in El Actor, el Director y la Guionista, a feature film pre-nominated by the Platino Ibero-American Film and Audiovisual Awards, showcases her ability to dignify every role she has played.

With over 25 film and TV roles, Carolina has won the hearts of Colombians and viewers worldwide with her ability to bring passion and humanity to each character she has played.
