Here is the biography of Carole Lesley:
Carole Lesley was a British actress born on May 27, 1935, in Chelmsford, Essex, England. She was christened Maureen Lesley Carole Rippingale. As a child, she became interested in show business and made her film debut at the age of 12 in the British drama "The Silver Darlings" (1947) directed by Clarence Elder.
Later, the 16-year-old Lesley ran away from home in search of fame and success. She eventually found a job as a chorine at London's Cabaret Club, where she sharpened her dancing skills. She then worked as a nude glamour and pin-up model in Paris under the name Leslie Carol(e).
Lesley returned to England and appeared in an unbilled role in "The Embezzler" (1954) at Kenilworth Productions. She then obtained a seven-year contract at Associated British Pictures, where she reverted her name to "Carole Lesley." From 1957, she appeared in a mixed bag of quality drama and comedy programmers.
Lesley's notable films include "Woman in a Dressing Groom" (1957),"Dangerous Youth" (1957),"No Trees in the Street" (1959),and "Operation Bullshine" (1959). She also appeared on TV as Helen of Troy and in the comedy series "Doctor in Love" (1960).
Lesley's career declined, and she was released from her contract. She pulled a virtual disappearing act, retreating from the limelight. In 1964, it was learned that she had married Michael Dalling and had two sons. Carole Lesley died on February 28, 1974, at the age of 38, from an acute overdose of pills in New Barnet, England.
