Biography

Carol Ann Doda, a stunning blonde bombshell, was born in San Francisco, California. Her early life was marked by her parents' divorce when she was just three years old. Doda's youthful years were characterized by her departure from school at the tender age of fourteen, when she secured a job as a cocktail waitress. She furthered her education by attending the San Francisco Art Institute, while simultaneously working as a waitress and lounge entertainer at the Condor Club in the city's North Beach section.

In 1964, Doda made her debut as a topless performer at the Condor Club, which catapulted her to instant fame. She quickly became a cultural icon of the 1960s, with many notable figures, including delegates from the 1964 Republican National Convention, flocking to see her show. The writer Tom Wolfe profiled her in his 1968 book "The Pump House Gang," and she even made an appearance in the psychedelic cult classic film "Head" (1968) alongside The Monkees.

Doda's career was marked by her innovative approach to her craft. She was one of the first strippers to undergo silicone injections to enhance her breasts, a procedure that became a defining feature of her stage presence. At the peak of her popularity, Doda performed twelve shows a night at the Condor Club, captivating audiences with her electrifying performances.

In 1969, Doda took her act to new heights by performing completely nude, a move that was met with widespread attention. However, she was forced to adapt to changing laws and eventually stopped performing nude in 1972. Throughout the 1970s, Doda remained a prominent figure in the adult entertainment industry, serving as the spokesperson for San Jose's KICU-TV Channel 36.

In addition to her stripping career, Doda had a successful acting career, appearing in several adult films, including "Honky Tonk Nights" (1978),"Trashi" (1981),"The Seven Seductions" (1982),and "Never So Deep" (1981). After retiring from stripping in the 1980s, Doda pursued her passion for music by forming her own rock band, the Lucky Stiffs. She also opened her own lingerie shop, Carol Doda's Champagne & Lace Lingerie Boutique, in San Francisco.

Throughout her later years, Doda continued to perform fully clothed at various clubs in the North Beach area of San Francisco, including Amante's and Enrico's Supper Club. Carol Ann Doda passed away on November 9, 2015, at the age of 78, due to complications from kidney failure, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most iconic and enduring figures in the adult entertainment industry.
