Carlos Ramirez, a native of Los Angeles, began his journey in theatre at the tender age of ten through his local church community. As a participant in his church choir, his exceptional talent led him to the opportunity to perform at the iconic Hollywood Bowl. Subsequently, he and his identical twin brother Efren Ramirez, who would later gain fame for his role as Pedro in Napoleon Dynamite, were discovered for a TV series titled Hell Town starring Robert Blake.
Seeking new challenges, Carlos pursued his passion for dance at the Glendale Theatre, while continuing to hone his acting skills on episodic shows like The Love Boat and Twilight Zone, as well as featuring in an industrial titled Sweet 15 and a feature film titled La Bamba starring Lou Diamond Phillips.
At the age of seventeen, Carlos took a significant detour from his acting pursuits, joining the United States Air Force. During his eight-year military tenure, he served in Operation Desert Shield in Iraq and Operation Joint Endeavor, working alongside NATO forces under a unified command in Bosnia while stationed in the global market.
While still in the military and stationed in the United Kingdom, Carlos furthered his education by studying theatre and dance at the esteemed Body Works college in Cambridge. Shortly after his enlistment, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue further studies in theatre, dance, and foreign language. Carlos is fluent in four languages and an exceptionally talented dancer.
After spending a few years in Tennessee, Carlos returned to his hometown of Los Angeles to enhance his studies at the Meisner Conservatory program under the guidance of Laura Henry. He has also attended courses such as The Alexander Technique, IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) technique, and has studied with the renowned Diane Venora. Carlos continues to study with acting coach Alan Feinstein and will be attending the Academy of Shakespeare. Furthermore, he attends a music school, where he is diligently learning to become fluent in the cello and piano.
Carlos is also a co-producer of a pilot titled "Wanna Be Me," which premiered at Sundance 2009, starring alongside Michael Lohan, Lacey Chabert, Shalim Ortiz, and Fernanda Romero. He has been actively involved in numerous charity organizations and has served as a motivational speaker across the country. Additionally, Carlos serves as a commissioner for the Citizen Commission on Human Rights.
