Caitlin Bassett's early life was shaped by her upbringing on a small horse farm located just outside Baltimore, Maryland. At the tender age of 18, she made the bold decision to enlist in the United States Army, embarking on a seven-year journey as an intelligence analyst that would see her attain the esteemed rank of Staff Sergeant and undertake three combat deployments, with two of those deployments taking place in Afghanistan.
During her time in the Army, Caitlin's thirst for knowledge led her to earn an undergraduate degree in legal studies from the University of Maryland University College. Following her honorable discharge, she relocated to New York City to pursue a career in law, enrolling at Brooklyn Law School. However, it was during this period that Caitlin discovered her passion for the performing arts, and she soon found herself moonlighting in theater schools and on film sets.
As her passion for acting grew, Caitlin was offered a position in the prestigious Stella Adler Studio of Acting's theater program, and she decided to take the leap, committing to a life of art. Since then, she has been actively involved in the NYC theater and film scene.
In 2020, Caitlin's talent and dedication were recognized when she was selected from a pool of 38,000 applicants to participate in the Disney/ABC Discovers Showcase. Additionally, her play 'Girl Push-ups' (since reworked and updated to 'Outbound') took top honors at the New Works Festival at Panndora's Box Productions in Los Angeles.
Caitlin's family has played a significant role in shaping her life and career. Her father, Stephen Bassett, is a Vietnam veteran, pilot, former sports broadcaster, and business owner. Her mother, Judy Bassett, is a career woman who works for the National Parks Service and is an accomplished horsewoman.
