Burke's life journey commenced on September 13, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, where he was born to parents of German and Welsh ancestry. Throughout his life, he has resided primarily in cities within the state of Ohio, as well as White Plains, New York. His educational pursuits led him to Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1973. Following his graduation, Burke relocated to Cleveland, Ohio, before making the move to Manhattan, New York, to further his studies. After a five-year stint in Manhattan, he migrated to Los Angeles, California, where he currently resides.
