Biography

Bruce Hickey is a multi-talented individual, boasting an impressive array of accomplishments as a playwright, screenwriter, and film director, with membership in The Director's Unit at The Actor's Studio. His illustrious career began with a stint as an actor, notably playing the iconic role of Danny Zuko in the original cast of Grease in Chicago. Subsequently, he redirected his focus towards directing, penning and directing his play, All I Want, which was inspired by his own casework experiences. This masterpiece enjoyed a successful two-year run at The Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago, garnering Jeff Awards for Best Play and Best Director. Hickey then made the transition to Los Angeles, where he continued to hone his craft, directing theater productions, feature films, and writing network TV movies. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to creating innovative and engaging content. One of his most notable achievements is the screenplay and direction of Blind Faith, which took home an astonishing 25 Best Short Film Festival awards in 2022.
