Bruce Herbelin-Earle was born on July 7, 1998, in the vibrant city of London, England, to parents of French and English descent. Growing up in the charming town of East Grinstead, located in the picturesque county of West Sussex, he was destined for a life in the spotlight.
As he graduated from sixth-form, Bruce landed his first major role in the summer of 2017, starring as the character 'Marcus Greenbridge' in the popular Netflix Original Series "Free Rein". The show's instant success earned it numerous awards, including two prestigious Emmy Awards. This breakthrough role propelled Bruce to become a household name in British television.
He continued to work in British television, taking on roles in the BBC's hospital drama "Casualty" and Channel 5's "15 Days", which also starred his "Free Rein" co-star Freddy Carter. Bruce described the experience as "Great to film" and a refreshing change from his days on "Free Rein".
In 2020, Bruce took on his first French-speaking role and also made his writing debut in the Amazon Prime anthology series "A Series of Light: Limelight". This marked a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his versatility as an actor and writer.
Fast forward to 2022, Bruce received a call from none other than Hollywood director and actor George Clooney, asking if he was ready and fit enough to play 'Shorty Hunt', an American rower from 1930's era Seattle, who was part of the legendary crew from the University of Washington that helped bring the U.S.A a gold medal in the men's 8 during the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Bruce eagerly accepted the challenge.
Clooney's 2023 Amazon/MGM Studios' feature film - "The Boys in the Boat", is a true-to-life adaptation of best-selling author Daniel James Brown's book, written by Mark L. Smith. The film also stars Callum Turner and Joel Edgerton.
