Biography

Bruce Cromer's impressive journey in the world of theatre began in 1982 when he joined the esteemed Actors' Equity Association as a leading actor with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. This marked the start of a remarkable career that has spanned over four decades.

As a B.F.A. Acting graduate of Wright State University's Professional Actor Training Program, Bruce has had the privilege of performing in over 170 professional stage productions with renowned organizations such as the Santa Fe Stages International Theatre Festival, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Clarence Brown Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Globe Theatre of Los Angeles, Conservatory Theatre Company, Seattle Children's Theatre, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, and the New Faire at Boston, to name a few.

Bruce's extensive experience has also led to his role as a founding Resident Artist with the Human Race Theatre since 1987. Furthermore, he has been a professor at Wright State University for over thirty years, teaching acting and movement classes, including Stage Combat, Shakespeare, Laban and Kinesics, Period Styles, and more. Additionally, he was a longtime Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors.

In recent years, Bruce has expanded his repertoire to include film acting, and although this is a new venture for him, he has been an active voice-over artist for decades. In 2021, he won a regional Emmy for his voice performance in the PBS documentary, "The Memphis Belle."
