Biography

Bruce Broughton is a versatile composer who has worked in various mediums, including theatrical motion pictures, television, and computer games. His style ranges from large symphonic settings, such as the score for "Silverado", to contemporary electronic scores, like the recently Emmy-nominated "The Dive from Clausen's Pier".

Broughton has written music for numerous major motion pictures, including "Tombstone", "Lost in Space", "Young Sherlock Holmes", and "Bambi II". He has received a record-breaking ten Emmy awards, with 23 nominations, most recently for his score in the HBO movie "Warm Springs".

In television, Broughton has composed main title themes for popular shows like "Jag" and "Tiny Toon Adventures", as well as scores for many television series and movies, including "Dallas", "Quincy", "Hawaii Five-O", "The Blue and the Gray", and "True Women". His score for "Heart of Darkness" was the first orchestral score composed for a CD-ROM game.

Broughton's concert music includes numerous works for orchestra and chamber groups, which have been performed by renowned ensembles such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony, and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
