Brittany Huckabee is an accomplished independent filmmaker, specializing in crafting narratives that shed light on the experiences of women. Her documentary productions have garnered widespread national attention, airing on PBS and other prominent outlets, as well as being showcased at prestigious international film festivals. Her most recent film, 'After Fire', a poignant exploration of women military veterans, is set to premiere at DOC NYC on Veterans Day 2016.
Prior to this, she wrote, edited, and produced 'Hot Girls Wanted', an unflinching exposé of the "amateur" pornography industry and the 18- and 19-year-old girls who are often unwittingly drawn into its orbit. Following its premiere in competition at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, the film was acquired by Netflix and received a prime-time Emmy nomination.
In addition to her work on 'Hot Girls Wanted', Huckabee collaborated as producer and editor on 'Sexy Baby', which premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and was subsequently picked up by Showtime. One of her notable directing credits is the Emmy-nominated 'The Mosque in Morgantown' (PBS, 2009),a documentary that chronicled a Muslim feminist's grassroots campaign for change within her West Virginia mosque.
Throughout her career, Huckabee has held the position of Filmmaker-in-Residence at WGBH and serves as the principal of Version One Productions, a production company based in New York City.
