Biography

Britt Lomond, a multifaceted individual, left an indelible mark on the world of entertainment as the iconic and captivating Captain Monastario, the arch-nemesis of the legendary Guy Williams' Zorro in the initial thirteen episodes of the 1950s television phenomenon.

As the Commandante of the Pueblo de Los Angeles, Captain Monastario was perpetually perplexed by Zorro's cunning and his schemes were consistently thwarted. Lomond, a skilled and accomplished fencer, held the distinction of being ranked 26th in the nation among amateur fencers before embarking on a distinguished career in film.

A graduate of New York University, Lomond's impressive educational background was only surpassed by his impressive military service, as he served as a paratrooper in both World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Following his illustrious film career, Lomond transitioned behind the camera, assuming various roles, including director, producer, and production manager, on a wide range of films, including the critically acclaimed Somewhere in Time, released in 1980.
