Biography

Brian McNamara is a multi-talented individual who has made a lasting impact in the entertainment industry. With over 100 TV and film appearances under his belt, he has demonstrated his versatility as a character actor, director, and producer.

McNamara's career began to take off with his first major role in the Garry Marshall comedy-drama "The Flamingo Kid" (1984),where he shared the screen with Matt Dillon. He then went on to star in the John Badham science fiction project "Short Circuit" (1986) alongside Ally Sheedy and Steve Guttenberg, which performed well at the box office.

The following year, McNamara delivered a solid lead performance as Dean Karny in the thriller "Billionaire Boys Club" (1987),which was based on an actual event and co-starred Judd Nelson and John Stockwell. His performance in this film earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination.

McNamara's next role was in the comedy "Caddyshack II" (1988),where he shared the screen with veteran comedians Dan Aykroyd, Chevy Chase, and Jackie Mason. He then starred in the Frank Marshall horror-comedy "Arachnophobia" (1990) alongside Jeff Daniels and John Goodman, and shone in the romantic comedy "Mystery Date" (1991) opposite Ethan Hawke and Teri Polo.

Since then, McNamara has maintained a steady career in film, with notable performances in independent films like "The Legend of Tillamook's Gold" (2006) and numerous appearances in quality TV shows such as "The O.C." (2003),"Monk" (2002),"Ghost Whisperer" (2005),"Manhattan, AZ" (2000),and "Army Wives" (2007).

In addition to his acting career, McNamara has also ventured into directing, making his debut with the thriller "Lost Signal" (2006),in which he also starred.
