Brian Colin Foley was born in Phoenix, Arizona, but spent his formative years in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where he became deeply involved in high school theater, laying the groundwork for his future pursuits. Following his secondary education, Brian attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he earned a bachelor's degree in International Affairs, although his true passion remained in the performing arts.
Undeterred by the allure of political science, Brian opted to pursue an acting career after graduating from JMU, and subsequently, he decided to further his education at Prague Film School, where he immersed himself in the art of filmmaking. His studies in Prague ultimately led to his casting in Bong Joon Ho's critically acclaimed science fiction film Snowpiercer (2013),which catapulted him to international recognition.
After his stint in Prague, Brian relocated to New York City, where he honed his on-camera skills under the guidance of the late actor and mentor, Clark Middleton. This marked the beginning of his extensive auditioning process, during which he refined his craft and garnered valuable experience.
In 2020, Brian took on a triple threat role, writing, directing, and starring in the sports comedy Chronicles of Gnarnia: The Rex Chadwick Story, which garnered widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards from esteemed film festivals, including the Los Angeles Film Awards, New York International Film Awards, Vegas Movie Awards, and many others.
Following his success in Chronicles of Gnarnia, Brian continued to accumulate an impressive array of film and television credits. His most recent endeavor, the true crime biopic Miranda's Victim (2023),directed by Michelle Danner, premiered at the 38th edition of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival to a sold-out audience, cementing his status as a talented and versatile actor.
