Brandon Rice was born in Denver, Colorado in 1985, and at an early age, his family relocated to Los Angeles, where he developed a passion for filmmaking, initially creating short films with his siblings, experimenting with stop-motion animation using his beloved Lego collection and action figures.
In high school, he formed a long-lasting friendship with Daniel Noa, and together, they began writing a series of Star Hunt stories, drawing inspiration from their favorite science fiction films and series. After a while, they decided to adapt some of these stories into short films.
Brandon wrote and directed his first narrative short, Star Hunt: Adversary, in 2002/2003, shot on a HI-8 camcorder. This film served as a great starting point for the aspiring filmmaker, and the following winter, he teamed up with Daniel once again to complete One Step Ahead, which was screened at the Action on Film International Film Festival in Long Beach, California.
A year later, in 2005, Brandon collaborated with Daniel on the short film A Price Too High, where he served as co-writer, co-director, cinematographer, and editor. The film received widespread acclaim, screening at several venues, including the 2006 AOF Festival, where it won an award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2006, Brandon embarked on his most ambitious project yet, a 45-minute long narrative Christian action film, Smuggler's Ransom, starring Anthony Tyler Quinn (Boy Meets World). Shot over four days during the summer of 2006, the film was picked up by Cloud Ten Pictures (Left Behind, Saving God) and released nationwide on DVD in the summer of 2008.
In 2007, Brandon was involved in the establishment of the independent studio Coram Deo Studios, where he served as editor on a pilot for a kid's history show called It Really Happened. During this time, he also wrote and directed an award-winning independent short film, Welcome To The Party, which received the Best Sci-Fi/Horror Short award in 2008 at the High Desert Shorts Film Festival.
The next significant project came at Coram Deo Studios, where Brandon served as story writer, associate producer, assistant camera operator, and editor on the faith-based romantic drama No Greater Love. This feature-length film was picked up by Carmel Entertainment (Fireproof, Facing the Giants).
Brandon's latest endeavors include serving as the Los Angeles Casting Director for the neo-noir thriller Greyscale, starring Ryan Dunlap, Doug Jones (Hellboy, Pan's Labrynth),Tim Russ (Star Trek: Voyager, Samantha Who),and Anthony Tyler Quinn (Boy Meets World, No Greater Love).
Currently, Brandon is working on a musically driven faith-based teen drama set to be produced in 2009 at Coram Deo Studios.
