Brandon Dean, also known as Tecklenburg, was born in Clearwater, Florida. He attended Tarpon Springs High School, where he was a standout athlete in both baseball and football. In baseball, he played outfielder for all four years, setting records for games played in a season and career, and in football, he was a wide receiver and punt returner, earning a spot on the All-Academic Football Team for Pinellas County.
At Tarpon Springs High School, Brandon was known for his impressive performances on stage, participating in on-stage skits and lip sync contests, and serving as a writer and editor for the school's newspaper, the "Serif". He was also named Mr. Sponger in his senior year, a title given to the most outstanding student.
After high school, Brandon attended Barry University in Miami, Florida, where he received a baseball scholarship and earned a degree in Broadcast Communications with a Fine Arts minor in Theatre. During his time at Barry, he performed in over a dozen plays and made his screen debut.
As a professional baseball player, Brandon attended over a half dozen professional baseball tryouts and played in two professional baseball games for the Huntington Rail Kings in the Heartland Independent League. He also played for the Double A Chicago Cubs in Jackson, Tennessee, and the San Francisco Giants' Triple A team in Fresno, California.
After his baseball career, Brandon transitioned to acting, landing his first lead role in a 35mm feature film, Zombie Nation, in 2005. He has since become a principal in over 60 national and regional commercials, and has studied with renowned acting coaches such as Lesly Kahn, Carolyne Barry, and Director John Swanbeck.
Brandon is a member of several acting studios, including TVI, ITA, and AIA Actors Studios, as well as professional organizations such as the Screen Actors Guild, AFTRA, The Actors Fund of America, AFI, SAG Foundation, AFI/SAG Conservatory, Minor League Baseball Alumni Association, and Association of Professional Ball Players of America. He is also a member of Alpha Delta Gamma National Fraternity and was named Brother of the Year in his senior year of college.
In his free time, Brandon enjoys playing in a local adult baseball league with his friend and actor, Jimmy Labrie.
