Person Biography:
Brainpower is a pioneering bilingual Hip Hop artist, songwriter, and producer who has made a significant impact on the Dutch music scene. Born and raised in Amsterdam, he founded and runs his record label, Lyric Recordings, which has released eight albums to date.
As a recording artist, Brainpower has achieved immense success, with multiple chart-topping hits, gold and platinum records, and numerous awards, including an MTV Europe Award for Best Dutch Act. He has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas, OutKast, Wyclef, and De La Soul.
In addition to his music career, Brainpower holds a Master of Arts degree in Communication Science from The University of Amsterdam and is a well-respected keynote speaker. He has given master classes at universities, schools, and other institutions, sharing his expertise and passion for music.
Brainpower is also a talented translator, having translated Othello and Hamlet in rhyme form to make Shakespeare's classic pieces accessible to new audiences. His translations were performed 130 times over two tours in 2015 and 2016, featuring a stellar cast.
