Brad Martin, a native of Sun Valley, Idaho, grew up with a passion for alpine skiing on an international level and martial arts, boasting a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and proficiency in numerous other styles. He also excelled in various sporting and athletic endeavors. After graduating with a degree in Philosophy from the University of Washington, Brad relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a Hollywood stuntman.
Through his unwavering dedication and hard work, Brad quickly rose to become one of the top stunt professionals in the industry. He has had the privilege of stunt doubling for some of the most esteemed actors, including George Clooney in films such as Batman & Robin, The Perfect Storm, Three Kings, Out of Sight, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and The Peacemaker. Additionally, Brad has doubled for several other iconic superheroes, including Chris O'Donnell in Batman Forever, Ben Affleck in Daredevil, and Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 2.
Since the early 2000s, Brad has shifted his focus towards stunt coordinating, action directing, and action design. He is most renowned for his work designing, coordinating, and directing the action units in the Underworld franchise, including Underworld, Underworld Evolution, and Underworld Awakening. Brad has also stunt coordinated numerous other blockbuster films, such as Live Free or Die Hard, Tropic Thunder, The Other Guys, and Expendables 3. In 2008, he received the prestigious Red Bull Taurus Stunt Award for Best Stunt Coordinator for his work in Live Free or Die Hard.
Currently, Brad's primary focus is on 2nd Unit directing. With credits including the Underworld franchise, Total Recall, I, Frankenstein, and most recently, Night at the Museum 3, Brad is carving out a new niche for himself in the action film genre.
