Biography

Bond Gideon's early life was marked by her birth in Corpus Christi, Texas, as Donna Kathryn Hosack. She would later become a multifaceted artist, venturing into modeling, singing, and guitar playing. This diverse skillset led to her first forays into acting, with roles in productions such as Stepsisters, Slick Silver & Company, Storyville, Texas, and New Orleans.

As her passion for acting continued to grow, Bond made the bold decision to relocate to Los Angeles in 1977. Her first significant role in Hollywood was in the 1979 film Blanskey's Beauties, alongside notable actors Nancy Walker and Scott Baio. The iconic director Garry Marshall was responsible for casting her in the role of Lovely Carson.

Bond's subsequent role in Season One of Operation Petticoat, featuring esteemed actors John Astin, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Richard Gilliland, further solidified her position in the entertainment industry. In 1980, she joined the cast of the renowned soap opera The Young and The Restless (Y&R),taking on the character of the infamous bad girl Jill Foster.

After a successful stint on Y&R, Bond relocated back to her home state of Texas in 1986. She married in 1988 and went on to pursue a new passion – teaching. Bond opened and ran an acting school in Corpus Christi, where she imparted her knowledge and skills to aspiring actors. Today, she continues to teach private acting lessons in Houston and has been involved in local theater productions.

Bond's personal life is just as impressive as her professional accomplishments. She is the proud mother of Tory Taylor Tompkins, a talented singer, musician, and actress who has followed in her mother's footsteps. Tory, who performs under the stage name Tory Taranova, is a SAG-AFTRA member and has established herself as a rising star in the entertainment industry.
