Bojena Horackova, a spirited and adventurous individual, emerged from the vibrant city of Prague in the 1960s, driven by an intense longing for freedom that would ultimately lead her to make the courageous decision to flee her native land at the tender age of seventeen.
With a sense of liberation and a thirst for new experiences, Horackova embarked on a transformative journey to the City of Light, Paris, a city that would have a profound impact on her life and serve as the inspiration for her semi-documentary "A l'est de moi", which she crafted in 2008.
Prior to her foray into filmmaking, Horackova nurtured her passion for cinema at the renowned IDHEC Film School, laying the groundwork for a future filled with creative expression and artistic exploration.
As she began her career in the film industry, Horackova initially pursued her passion for acting, appearing in a series of shorts, before transitioning to behind-the-scenes work, where she would go on to produce films of varying lengths and genres, including both fiction and documentary features.
One of her most notable works, "Malik n'est pas parti", premiered in 1996 and showcased her versatility and talent as a producer.
