Biography

Bob Stephenson's life began in the sun-kissed city of Camarillo, California, where his childhood was filled with a multitude of exciting activities. As a young boy, he spent his days skateboarding, Boogie Boarding, playing baseball and soccer, and cultivating his passion for Legos, which would later become a significant part of his childhood. Additionally, he was an avid television viewer, soaking up a wide range of programming that would shape his interests and tastes.

Growing up, Bob was a latch-key kid, with his father, John Stephenson, working as a mechanical and civil engineer for the government, and his mother, Olive Stephenson, holding a master's degree in nursing. This unique upbringing instilled in Bob a strong sense of independence and self-reliance.

As a student, Bob attended the prestigious Stevenson boarding school in Pebble Beach, California, where he honed his creative skills by designing and building sets for the school's theatrical department. His talent and dedication earned him a spot alongside his best friend at The College of Idaho, where he played NCAA soccer and continued to develop his social skills.

After two years in Idaho, Bob transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he continued to build his network of friends and, unfortunately, struggled with his academic performance. Despite this, he persevered and eventually graduated from the university after a five-year plan.

Upon graduating, Bob relocated to Los Angeles, where he began working as a production assistant and pursued his passion for writing. His talent and creativity quickly caught the attention of several notable directors, including David Kellogg, Simon West, David Fincher, and Spike Jonze, who hired him to write music video and commercial treatments.

As his skills and reputation grew, Bob was soon asked to audition for commercials and films directed by these industry giants. His remarkable talent, work ethic, and dedication ultimately led to his success in the industry, solidifying his position as an exceptional writer and a true Hollywood insider.
