Benjamin, a native of Houston, Texas, began his educational journey at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts, where he initially studied art rather than drama. However, after gaining experience as a vet's assistant, he decided to switch to the High School for Health Professions, driven by his intense passion for art and design.
Benjamin went on to graduate with honors from the Art Institute of Dallas, where he honed his skills in art and design. During his time in Dallas, he was actively involved in community theater, working with notable organizations such as Conerstone, the Dallas Children's Theater, and being one of the first cast members for "The Promise".
Benjamin's theatrical experience included appearances in original dramatic and musical productions such as "Snow White", "Bobby Sox", C.S. Lewis's "The Silver Chair", "Peanut Butter and Tofu on Jewish Rye", and "Eight Days that Changed The World". This experience sparked his desire to pursue film and broadcast roles.
Benjamin made a memorable debut with small roles in two highly anticipated projects filmed in Texas, including Oliver Stone's "JFK" and the Emmy Award-winning "Killing in a Small Town" for CBS. This promising start opened doors for him to take on leading roles in several independent films, including "Holding On", "Once Blind", "Am I Cursed?", and "Halftime - The Redemption of a Couch Potato".
Benjamin's television credits include starring roles in "Amazing Love Stories" for ABC Family, the pivotal role of Ethan Allen in a historical docu-drama for The Discovery Channel, and a dramatic role in the millennium special, "Is It The End Or Just The Beginning?" for ABC Family and TBN.
In 2003, Benjamin completed filming for three projects. In the psychological thriller "Stationery Games", he played the lead role of Reginald, a CIA operative, which won a Grand Jury Award at the Bare Bones Independent Film Festival. In the comedy "Sweet Hideaway", he played the part of Scotti, and in an inventive split-screen segment, he played the dual roles of The Angel and Man in Black. The film won the Best Comedy award at the New York International Independent Film Festival.
Benjamin's most recent credits include the theatrically released and award-winning "Echoes of Innocence", where he played the role of young priest Father Connelly, the voice of compassion in the film. The film won 9 major festival awards, including a Platinum Remi in Dramatic Film at the WorldFest International Film Festival and Audience Favorite. Benjamin also completed roles in the comedy "Art of the Fart" and the upcoming sci-fi event, "Parallel".
