Bengt Jörgen, a co-founder of Canada's Ballet Jörgen, has distinguished himself as a visionary leader, serving as both Artistic Director and CEO of the esteemed ballet company.
In 1992, his artistic vision led to the establishment of a groundbreaking partnership with George Brown College in Toronto, where he currently holds the position of Artistic Director of the full-time dance program.
As a renowned choreographer, Bengt Jörgen has created over 30 full-length ballets for prominent ballet and opera companies worldwide, including the National Ballet of Canada, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the American Ballet Studio Company, and the Hong Kong Ballet.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Bengt Jörgen graduated from the esteemed Royal Swedish Ballet School, one of the oldest classical dance training institutions globally. He further honed his skills at the National Ballet School of Canada and later joined the National Ballet of Canada.
A significant influence on his training and artistic approach remains New York-based teacher Maggie Black, with whom he studied extensively in the 1980s.
