Bart Shatto was born in Peoria, Illinois, to Sara Kelly, a caregiver for disabled adults, and Player Shatto, a maintenance supervisor for Pabst Brewery and a bass player and jazz musician. His mother is of Irish descent, while his father has Scottish and German ancestry. As the youngest of four siblings, Bart has two older sisters and one older brother.
