Biography

Barry "The Fish" Melton, a legendary guitarist, remains one of the few surviving musicians from San Francisco's vibrant psychedelic scene of the mid-1960s. His illustrious career has been marked by numerous notable appearances as a musical performer in iconic films, including the celebrated documentaries Monterey Pop and Woodstock. Furthermore, Melton's creative talents extended to composing the soundtrack for the cult classic Gas-S-S, directed by the renowned Roger Corman. His impressive filmography also features brief cameos in notable movies such as The Omega Man, released in 1971, and More American Graffiti, a 1979 film.

Melton's most enduring legacy, however, is his work as a key member of the influential rock and roll duo, Country Joe & The Fish, alongside his long-time musical partner, the charismatic "Country" Joe McDonald.
