Biography

Jackson Barrett Mahon, also known as Barry Mahon, was born on February 5, 1921, in Santa Barbara, California. During his high school years, Mahon learned to fly and later joined the Royal Air Force in 1941. He flew combat missions with No. 121 (Eagle) Squadron, composed of American volunteers, and achieved several aerial victories, including downing two FW-190s on June 8, 1942, and two more on July 31.
