Avery Crounse is a renowned director and photographer, whose illustrious career has spanned decades. As the founder of his own production company, Elysian Pictures, Crounse has had the privilege of bringing his creative vision to life through three theatrical feature films that have garnered international recognition.
His directorial debut in 1983, the western-horror film "Eyes of Fire", starring Dennis Lipscomb and Guy Boyd, received widespread acclaim, with The New York Times hailing it as a "bizarrely fascinating story" and praising Crounse's "extraordinary visual imagination".
Crounse's subsequent film, "The Invisible Kid", starring Oscar-nominated actress Karen Black, also received critical acclaim, solidifying his reputation as a talented filmmaker. His most recent film, "Cries of Silence", starring Karen Black, Kathleen York, and Ed Nelson, was described by The Los Angeles Times as "an exquisite drama", and went on to win numerous awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress for his daughter Erin Buchanan at the Giffoni International Film Festival.
