Sugiura Asami, a talented and versatile actress, made her mark in the entertainment industry at the tender age of nineteen, starring in the film "Kiss Me Or Kill Me: Todokanakutemo Aaishiteru". This early success paved the way for her to take on a wide range of roles in exploitation, adult, gravure, and action features, showcasing her versatility and adaptability as an actress.
Prior to her entry into the film industry, Asami worked various jobs, including waiting tables, telemarketing, and even pachinko parlour work. Her friend's introduction to the industry led her to take on a role that involved disrobing, which she seized with enthusiasm. This opportunity led to modeling jobs at an adult magazine and a studio in 2005.
Asami's career saw her switch agents twice in 2006, after which she opted to be known simply as "Asami" before reverting back to her full name, Sugiura Asami, in 2008. She then reverted back to "Asami" once more in 2009. Her breakthrough came with the Machine Girl films, which garnered significant attention and publicity, thanks in part to her striking gaze, tantalizing legs, and liberated charm.
Asami's collaboration with director Iguchi Noboru in 2007 led to appearances in several of his films. She went on to star in numerous pink and pornographic films before announcing her departure from the genre in 2008 to focus on mainstream films. However, she didn't shy away from provocative roles, and her bold performances earned her a special performance award at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival of Japan in 2014.
Aside from her acting career, Asami is an avid enthusiast of reptiles, watching films, and karaoke. She is also a skilled musician, playing the piano and saxophone. Furthermore, she has authored several photo books, showcasing her multifaceted talents and interests.
